A lifetime in tools

I started work as a rep for Footprint Tools in Sheffield in 1968.
Moved on to Vitrex in 1972 where I stayed for 16 years covering the northern half of UKuntil they were taken over.
National sales manager with H.Fine and Son and then with Cintride, masonry drill manufacturers of Bakewell
Sadly I was in the middle of the decline of the UK tooltrade decline with many famous names being taken over by large American groups and manufacturing going to China.I have many memories of toolshop owners across UK and managers of competitors who became friends.

I liked Footprint tools and the simple way a lot of them are made form bent metal plate. I collected this display of footprint tools over a few years and they are on display at Amberley Chalk Pit Museum. Very interested that you worked there. Do you have any info on Footprint Like Catalogues?
