Hi everyone:
My name's Russell, I'm from the UK, and I'm opening a traditional woodworking and furniture-making school in Qatar. There is no current woodworking tuition in Qatar, and my school is being backed by the government. We have secured a beautiful 500 sq. m. facility in the center of Doha (images attached), which is being fitted out with 20 workbenches for adults, 28 benches for kids, two multi-crafting areas (for leatherwork etc.), hundreds of top notch hand tools, and a fully stocked machine shop.
I am looking for two full time woodworking teachers (traditional hand tool work) who are willing to move to Qatar and teach beginners through to more advanced students. Ideal candidates should have good hand skills and ideally some experience teaching traditional hand tool techniques (although this is not a deal breaker for the right candidates).
If anyone is interested to learn more, I'm offering a very competitive tax free salary (GBP 40,000 - 50,000 depending upon experience), free accommodation, two flights home per year, and all other standard Qatar benefits.
Start date is November or December this year.
Send me an email on [email protected] if you want to chat more. Please also send some photos of your work, and a summary of your experience. Anyone know Paul Sellers number? Just kidding...
Thanks so much.
Russell
