Wrist pain after long forging sessions

Been smithing as a serious hobby for about two years now. Last six months the pain in my right wrist has gotten noticeably worse, especially after sessions longer than three hours. It starts as stiffness and progresses to sharp pain when I try to grip things the next day. I'm using a 2.5lb cross peen which I thought was the right weight for my build. I've watched videos on proper hammer technique and think I'm doing it correctly, but clearly something is off if I'm developing this kind of pain

Had to take two weeks completely off from forging and the pain went away, but it came right back after my first session back. Now I'm worried I'm doing permanent damage, its starting to look like this is not even a forum problem but more of a hospital visit thing

Ah man, I dont think wrist pain that comes back immediately after rest is a technique problem you can fix with youtube videos, maybe you need to see a doctor?

yeah, I think power hammer can help you, but to get rid of your wrist pain, you need to go to the doctor

first, you need to see a doctor. then for smithing, use lighter hammers, take more breaks, wear wrist support/gloves, and focus on perfect form
