W. Butcher Gouges--Any Idea of Age?

Hello from California. Over twenty years ago a set of antique W. Butcher gouges that I would like to display here in hopes that someone can furnish more historical information on them than I currently possess. However, I don't see a way to insert images from my computer, only those on the Internet. Is there a way?

OK, I guess I had to register first!

I have seen contradictory statements about the use of the "W. Butcher" mark, one suggesting that it is very early, from the time William was still in business by himself, i.e., in the 1820s, another indicating that this mark persisted on at least plane irons until around 1910. Can anyone sed some light on this?

These gouges, and their handles, are in excellent condition.

W. Butcher mark was used for a long stretch, starting in the early 1800s and continuing well into the late 19th century. Early marks can be from william’s solo period, but plenty were still made later under the same name, so the stamp alone doesn’t lock down an exact date
