Tool set return question

Alright, here's a scenario some of you might've run into, or not I picked up a 12 piece metric ratcheting wrench set from Home Depot a while back, fast forward a few months, the 13mm wrench gave out under normal use (cracked at the head), and somewhere along the way, the 17mm walked off, no clue where it went, now, the set has a lifetime warranty, and I'm trying to do the right thing ,not looking to abuse the policy but when I went in to replace the busted 13mm, they were out of stock individually, and the associate said I might be able to exchange the full set… but I'm obviously missing one wrench
So here's the question, has anyone successfully exchanged an incomplete set under warranty when one broke and one vanished?

Appreciate any insight before I go back in and plead my case

I've done a swap at Lowe's before with one wrench missing, and they still honored it since one clearly failed. @Sosa.xx my advice is to just be upfront and polite.

I had a similar situation and the store let me swap the whole set even though one wrench was missing. I think as long as it was clear the damage wasn't abuse. And if you've got the receipt or packaging, that helps too.
