Need replacement handle for vintage Disston D 8 saw

The handle is cracked pretty badly near the horn. It's still usable but feels like it could snap any day, especially when doing heavier rip cuts, so I already started searching online for replacement handles but they're either overpriced like wdym $70+ for a piece of wood or not quite the right pattern for the D-8. Some are close but the bolt holes don't match perfectly.

Anybody know where I could find an original replacement handle, or is this something I can make myself? I've got some okay woodworking skills and access to some nice walnut, but I've never carved a saw handle before and not sure about the ergonomics, just seems like there's a lot that could go wrong in terms of comfort

idk how bad the crack is, but have you tried to fill it with a high viscosity epoxy?
but if you really want the cheaper original handle, you can try the facebook marketplace

Handles are one of those things where a bad fit really ruins the cutting experience, so if you go DIY, make sure to mock it up and test grip and angle before fully shaping it.
