Got a vintage tool from an estate sale

Picked up an old Henderson Tubender at an estate sale,, looked like a solid vintage tool. I tried using it to bend 1/2" EMT, but the bend came out pretty rough. Not sure if i'm using it wrong or if it's just not meant for EMT. Anyone have experience with these or know what they were originally made for? Any tips would be great.

Nice find!, ubender was mostly designed for bending thin wall conduit and lighter gauge tubing, so half " EMT can be a bit tough on it and might not give the cleanest bends, you should slow down your bend and make sure the tubing is properly seated in the form.

Appreciate the tip. Have you ever had luck getting cleaner bends with it on half-inch, or is it really better to stick to thinner tubing?
