I'm building a complete tool set for home/farm use (trucks, tractor, implements) and was originally aiming for Snap on quality to last 50 years. I was expecting a high price, but the quote for a comprehensive Snap on set (like sockets, ratchets, wrenches, pliers, etc.) was shocking, over $50K. Mac was still $20K to $30K.On a whim, I tried a $127 Icon 3/8 ratchet set from Harbor Freight and was genuinely impressed with the performance while rebuilding my mower deck. The quality is significant for the price, and the value gap to Snap on seems too huge to justify the cost difference. What tool brands and sets does everyone here recommend that offer great quality without the extreme professional price tag? I'm ready to buy more Icon, but open to other suggestions!
